IGI "mistakes" !!!

I know that the info on IGI must be taken with some caution but...

I have found the marriage for a couple is recorded on IGI as January 1807, but I have the parish records for that church and there is no entry for those names in that year. The couple were in fact married on 6th May 1796.

The name is so unusual as to be not easily mistaken.

They can usually be relied upon it is an extracted record, I went to a record office recently to check up on an extracted record and found that and a bit more info too on the original.

The ones which are submitted by a member of the church can be taken with a pinch of salt, they need to be checked up on.
