How do I start???

I do not have much information on my grandfathers family at all, and he was born in 1902 - so I can't find him on any census.

How do I find out information to get me started - is the only way to order his birth certificate?

My grandfather is William Edward McArthur, born in London - possibly Fulham in May 1902.

Any suggestions greatfully received!

Thank you

His birth cert would be the best place to start as this will give you both his parents details.

Thank you for all taking the time to reply - I will get on with ordering the certificate so that I can start.

Many Thanks
