ADVICE NEEDED OVER MISSING CENSUS PAGES

There are some pages missing from 1861 - I couldn't find some of my ancestors, and checked the addresses on FindmyPast which showed there were some houses missing in Burgess Street.

Mike from Leicester then checked at the Record Office, and they confirmed that some pages were missing because they were damaged.

Hi,

I have looked on findmypast and page 7 is there, let me know if you need me to look someone up for you.

I to have found several pages missing from Ancestry which are available on other sites.

I was looking near Carnforth 1861 on Ancestry.
RG9/3164/100/5 is followed by page 6, then 8, then 9. No page 7 - although I would expect it to be physically on the back of P8 in the real book.

Hello

I have looked on genes before and found the census pages I have needed but have been unable to find the same pages on ancestry because they were wrongly transcribed and it took another genes member to find them under a completly different name. I was looking for my great grand parents on the census for 1901 and also 1891 but they wern,t on the ancestry or genes sites but another genes member found them on find my past also wrongly transcribed regards janet

Hi

I believe that there may be a page or pages missing on the Ancestry 1861 Census for Leicester.

If I view the 1861 Census for Leicester on Genes or Findmypast would the same pages be missing ie do they use the same transcriptions.

Many thanks for your time.

Regards
