Just found out that little Alfred was buried five days after his birth at Toowoong Cemetery.

Now that we have established that the family returned to Uk, it explains why there are two strangers interred in the plot

I can now confirm that Alfred and Sarah Ann married in Brisbane on 7 Sep 1886, approx four months after Sarah arrived in Brisbane .

Although I cannot confirm where the boys were born in Queensland, I can now confirm their exact birth dates. By the way I found another son born in 1888.

I couldnt find a birth for Alfred 1829>.

However it looks like he immigrated in 1883 as I found an Alfred Brotherton aged 23 years.

Thank you - his name was Harold Brotherton - I believe his mother was Sarah Ann Collins born in Ware, Hertfordshire, England. The Grand-parents names were John & Eliza Collins.

I have a distant relation born 1892. On the 1901 census he is listed as age 9 - born in Australia (no Town or State mentioned), but living with his Grandparents in Musley Lane, Ware, Hertfordshie. The Grandparents were born in Ware, Herts.

I know Australia is a big place - but I don't know where to start? Any suggestions gratefully received.
