My aunty is phoning me tonight, and trying to get hold of some family photos, Ive never met her so this is great. *Thanks Malcolm, never crossed my mind to do that. Will do it now!

Try and get hold of a digital photo of your kid's art work (at max resolution) while the colours are fresh. It doesn't hurt to have a backup of that, even though a photo's a poor substitute.

Dont ever give up! Ive been trying to research my dads side (who I didnt meet til I was 23, and Ive still not met his mum/sisters, etc) for 4 years, 3 hours a night. Was getting nowhere, I'd gone over the census time and time again, ordered what certs I could (didnt know enough info to get most), and put letters in papers. Tonight Ive had an email from my dads sister, and also someone who remembers my dads mum. Both people are interested in Genealogy, added bonus! I think Im finally getting somewhere. Today my husband has got a job, after being unemployed for a year, and the local paper emailed to say theyre soon featuring me in an article about family history research. My daughters art work was in the paper, they've even enlarged it and framed it for her, shes only 7 so is thrilled. So look on the bright side, things DO get better!!
