Hi Linda G,
I just got back and spotted your kind offer of a ships passenger list look-up.
Details are skimpy - but
William Kirby born 1897 in Southwark, SE London and travelling aged late twenties, early thirties so about 1927ish. The destination would be Canada. I can't be certain, but I am tempted to think that he might have left from Southampton given where he lived.
Any help would be lovely but I have proberbly missed you by now.
Regards
Tiger-Lily

Right, Lost for Words, I didn't go the step further to see if there were other Kirbys on the ship. It certainly looks like a family, William 29, Annie 26 and Selina 5.
Margaret
Uh oh! Just noticed, Tiger-Lily's William Kirby was from London.

This is certainly a Liverpool family - Wlliam A Kirby married Annie Jackson Sep qtr 1918 in Liverpool reg district. Selina M Kirby (mmn Jackson) born Jun 1919.

It might be Tiger-Lily's William Kirby if he had travelled north before marrying.
