Hi Michael

I have been into Norton but I can't get into the firewall, it just says that it is on. I can't find any add blocker. I think that may be what I used to do to get rid of the adverts. I seem to remember that my old Norton had lots of places that you could go in and adjust various things. Thank you for all your advice. I think I shall have to e-mail Norton.

Thank you Michael. The adverts have stopped flashing, apart from the one at the bottom, but they are still there. I don't know what I have done in the past but whatever it was the adverts went completely. Much better though, thank you again.

I don't know whether I'm on the right board for a computer question. If I'm not, could you please tell me which board I should be on.

Yesterday my hubby completely cleared out my computer and I am starting from scratch. My worst problem is that I have the flashing adverts back on various websites (including this one) and I can't remember how I have finally managed to get rid of them in the past. I have got full Norton protection and I have the pop up blocker that is under tools set to high but still they flash and they give me a headache.
