In 1806 how much a hundred pounds left in a will is worth now please?

this sum of money may not seem alot even if you think of it being worth the 6 thousand of today but in 1806 £100 was an incredable amount of money and would buy you more than you could with todays equivilent of £6000. for example in the 1940 you could buy a 3 bed house for £450. victoria

it was a very good amount then in 1806 to be left in a will, apart from the money he left his family there was more than one property and some land so they were fairley well off in those days, i wonder what happened after that it seems it was a slippery slope from there on in, as his grandson my (3x grandfather) wasnt well of at all oh well typical!
