Open your tree.
Come back to here.
Right click"my family tree"(at top of page)
I have just tested it,works perfectly.

It works for me too, you can then alter the sizes of the two boxes to fit on the screen more easily, (although you only have a small part of the trees showing)

Clair in Wales... That's a brilliant tip! I I just picked it up whilst browsing (nosing) amongst the messages. Who's a clever one then?

Open your own tree
Now press control & N
A second tree will appear on your screen
Change the second tree from your own to your contacts

No.

Even putting another unrelated window between doesn't help. As soon as I tried changing the top tree the bottom one altered to it too.

Now that is really irritating. I wonder why they have messed that up. I wish they'd stop "fixing" things that work OK.

I just tried it and you're right John.

How annoying.

I shall have to go and fiddle about and see if sticking any windows inbetween helps but it does rather look as if they don't want us looking at two trees at once.

This is what I used to do, but now even though I have 2 lots of GR open when I try to open a family tree on each it only opens one of them.

I find I just open up another window so I have two lots of GR on at once. Then I can have one tree on each.

Until a couple of days ago I was able to have 2 family trees open at the same time. I found this very useful when I was updating my own tree and checking the information held by a contact in their tree.

Now when I have a contacts tree displayed and then try to open up my tree on a seperate connection the displayed contacts tree just switches to mine.

Does anybody have any ideas?
