Also - Betsey is down in brackets as (betsey Berry) So I'm wondering if that means she could be Frances' daughter from before she got together with Thomas

Well, in December of 1862 Mary Ann Grigg married John May St Columb 5c 171

I have them on the 1871-1901 census but can't seem to find the others! I can find them on 1851 and 1841, but not the rest of the Grigg family from 1871-1901.

I want to try and work out who they grandchildren's parents were! I've looked for marriages on FreeBMD but no luck, and tried various spellings on Ancestry but still no joy! Tis a puzzle!

Hi Laura,
A lot of my Cornish miners went to USA in the 1860's but I think John (head) may have been a bit old to move. The elder girls could well have married in the 10 years. Where is the son + dau in law?
I know that doesn't solve the mystery.
Best of luck
B

Mary Ann Grigg b1838 Illogan, dau
Betsey b1859 Illogan, gdau
Fanny b1844 ILlogan dau
John 1792 head St Minver
Joseph 1854 Illogan gson
Maria 1799 St Minver wife
Martha 1837 St Minver dau
Mary 1858 Illogan gdau
Mary Ann 1838 Illogan dau
Robert 1858 Illogan gson

Now, whether it's just me because it's getting late and I've spent far too long looking at Ancestry I don't know, but I can't seem to find any of them in 1871!!!!

Any help much appreciated

Laura
