Hello All,
I wonder if anyone can help me? I am looking for a James Herbert Braney c1880. The known facts I have about him are - married to Sarah Anne Dewis Q3 1905 at Patterdale (West Ward), at the time of his marriage he was residing at Patterdale and was a gardener. Also at the time of his marriage his father-David- was deceased and had been a soldier. I can not find him in the 1881, 1891 or 1901 census. As I am fairly new to research I would be very grateful if anybody could point me in the right direction. After the marriage they may have moved to the North East.

Had a PM from Lynne asking if James Braney was born in Scotland, how would it be possible to track him down?

Could some other kind member advise as I have no experience with Scottish records. I have suggested she try to look for a site called Scotlands People.
