Would it be possible, Sue, that he wrote and signed it in Feb, died in March then it was dated in April when it was probated? It's just the coincidence of 2 William Nobles dying within months of each other in Gateshead who were exactly the same age is really a stretch of the imagination.

You could try http://online.gateshead.gov.uk/bmd/ although their coverage link indicates that they haven't covered your years yet, but maybe later on...?

Why not buy the cert and see who registered the death?

You obviously know the names of his wife and children, so it will be easy to determine if he's the right one.

Where is his wife/widow in 1891?

Hi Suzanne,

I, too, think that the death Reg found must be the one.

Margaret's idea that the date you have is when the will was proved is a good one. Perhaps you could check this.

That's funny, the one that Reg found has to be him, don't you think?
Are you sure that the date on the will is when he wrote it? Or when it was probated after he died?

If you have ancestry membership you can search the complete death index for the death.

If you can't find it, perhaps he died somewhere other than Gateshead.

How do you know he died between these dates?
