Is there anywhere I can try to track down a relative who was a fireman and who may have died in service?

His name was Edward George Minter born in 1901, it is possible he died during the war in SE London.

His brother Alfred died 20.04.1941, he was a fireman too. I have found Alfred on the CWGC, but can't find a death for Edward anywhere. Someone told me that both brothers died and they had flats named after them in Sydenham, I haven't been able to verify this.

Thought you might like to see this:

The Fireman's Prayer

When I am called to duty, God
Where ever flames may rage
Give me the strength to save some life
Whatever be its age
Help me embrace a little child
Before it is to late
Or save an older person from
The horror of that fate
Enable me to be alert
And hear the weakest shout
And quickly and efficiently to put the fire out
I want to fill my calling and
To give the best in me
To guard my every neighbor and protect his property
And if according to your will
I have to give my life
Please bless with your protecting hand
My children and my wife
