I would appreciate some help please. I have a list of marriages June1900 which reflects District, Vol. and Page. How do I find out which of the two ladies Herbert Mastern Fellows married before ordering a certificate. Thanks.

you could try looking for a birth after 1911 for Masters with either mothers maiden name.
other than that thers no way of finding out without getting the cert

Look him up in the 1901 census

I didn't read your question very carefully....I think you can get the cert without knowing the spouse's name...his name with it's distinctive middle name and the refernce is enough.
There is a birth ref for him for him too on freebmd...but I expect you have that
