yes i agree with that but say if i was looking for the marriage in a c of e church!! i can write to that church and send a fee for a copy of that cert but in this case its a catholic church can i do the same ?

All marriages have to be registered, generally the Registrar sits in on a marriage that is not CofE.
and has the Register for the couple to sign.

Marriages I have been to in Evangelical Churches, and other than CofE have the Registrar there.
My brother in law is registered to perform this duty in Evangelical churches.

So this marriage should have been registered.
