You know on the computer keyboard on the right hand side where all the numbers 1-9 are? above that it says Number Lock Caps Lock Scroll Lock etc light up. Should the Scrool Lock light up be on all the time, mine is and I don't know if I have done something by accident!!

I've never worked out what the scroll lock does on modern computers - it doesn't seem to do anything on mine, and it's always off.

If you press the "Scroll lock" key, the light should go off again.

Thanks mary,

I don't know what its for either, I just tried to clean my keyboard and I must have pressed something by accident while cleaning and the light came on. Managed to get it off ok but just thought what is the scrool lock for!!

The only program I know that uses Scroll Lock is Microsoft Excel, but there are probably some others too.
