no i haven't found that yet either .
and yes you might be right that could of happened
i never thought of that it was just the middle name was throwing me i know when he died . and i have found that .

I have looked at the complete images for 1887, June and Sept quarters.
The only match is William Mayhew July- Sept 1887 Fulham vol 1a p 273

Have you found his baptism record? Charles may have been added as an extra name at his baptism.

Do you have a copy of his marriage cert to see what that says and will also give you his Fathers name and maybe you could find him on the census and find his mothers name also

My OH'S grandfather was named William Mayhew born on 12th June 1887 .in Fulham
He died in 1969 Hendon 5c/ 601 . but on the death census on ancestry it states his name as William Charles.Mayhew
and on my OH's grandmothers death cert it says widow of William Charles Mayhew . but i cant find a William Charles on the birth census . does any of this make sense to you, i'm going round in circles.
