Ancestry main search does not work for BMD

I just rang ancestry to ask why I do not appear if I search for my own birth through the main search screen - http://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/

Apparently the records this search brings up are only those that have been indexed by names, which is 50% of those after 1983 and about 25% of those before.

In order to search the full bmd you need to goto England & Wales BMD Indexes from the home page.

Apparently they do have ALL records back to 1837, so hopefully those ancestors that I couldnt find records for, and assumed wernt in there should be in if I search the long way round.

Just thought I would post this for info, as I didnt know about it until today.
