1901 census help please

I am trying to find what happened to a William Roe born in 1880 in Cockermouth, Cumberland. I can find him on all census' but this.

He is the son of Thomas Roe (born 1839, Cumberland) and Susan Jacks (born 1845, Middlesex) in 1901 Thomas and Susan are living in London with two of their children, but William is nowhere to be found.

I know he later goes on to marry his cousin (my gt gt aunt) in Loughborough, Leicestershire (not sure of a date, but well after 1901.)

Any help would be great,

Yes this is them in 1881. William is the son of Thomas and Susan Harriet Roe.

I can find him on all but the 1901 census, I don't know William's occupation.

Hi Marilyn, on the 1881 census Thomas is with his wife Susan Harriet who was born in Southampton, Middlesex in 1845 (according to past census'). They married in 1865, so she definitely should be the mother.

It may be a possibility that he was eith out of the Country at the time or maybe in the Army? I know Thomas (born 1875) wasn't in America because he married in 1899 in Poplar Middlesex and had his 1st children in 1900 and 1902 both born in Middlesex.
