Like your new board name, glad it worked.

Hi again Gillian from now Justice of Peace.

My meaning of 'they' being people in general (they say we are wrong) for instance... a third person.

Make any sense, hopefully.

Good afternoon Reggie,
'They' do say you learn something every minute, well I am learning something every second.
Am now going searching for the little 'red boxes' you mentioned.

What a marvellous response I have received from you lad's and lassies considering I only posted my initial message a few hours ago.
Thanks to you all.

By the way does anyone know who 'they' are, they who make quotations?

Thanks for your info Joy,
Will be appearing on screen shortly as 'Justice of Peace'.
My membership name is actually Joyce Stokes but my married name is Joyce Page so decided to incorporate my initials into a pseudonym title.
Will try your freebmd.rootsweb.com site and see if it makes any difference.

Thanks.

I think your problem with freebmd is that you are entering details into the 'search' box at the top of the page.

IGNORE that one......scroll down to a row of red 'boxes', and use the search facility offered there.

I won't repeat what the others said; it was explained well.

To have a different name for the boards, click on my account (top right, just next to sign out), input your password, scroll down, and you will see a space to put a community name, as GR call it. Then click on save, and return to the boards.

Hi again Gillian,
Have sussed out B's and T's, sounds a bit like a drink methinks, thanks anyway.

As for www.freebmd.org.uk well every time I attempt a search I come up with Ancestry wanting my blood. I will continue to try this site and if I am successful I will let you know.

By the way how come most of the members of this site have pseudonym's
which are so eye catching and I'm down as plain JP?.

Regards,
Joyce

Hi Christine,
Thanks for your input.

Thanks again

Hi Joyce,

If you want to bookmark a thread, click on bookmark this when you have the thread open.

You can search free on FreeBMD.

Scroll down the page and click on search, don't fill in the ancestry box at the top of the page.

Hi Gillian,
Thanks for your speedy reply.
What I mean by bookmark/thread is how it works. If I see replies from members who give useful tips how do I transfer this infomation into my bookmark/thread?
As for my freebmd question, yes you were correct, silly me thought freebmd truly meant 'free'.
When I go into freebmd I am approached by Ancestry to take a trial but they still require my bank details?, am not prepared to do that at the moment but if it is the only option left me then I will.
Earlier this morning I read input on Ancestry charges, all very interesting.
Thanks again Gillian

Am a newcomer to the community section, hello to all.
Required help being: how do you bookmark a thread?
also
When connecting to freebmd I find I am also involved with ancestry uk, is this the case or am I doing something wrong?
