Think I would be tempted to get one or two of the birth certs to see who the mother is.

Have you had a chance to look at the 1891 entry that I have posted especially as Charles and Sarah are also on the 1891

Glitter baby Janet 1869 was my great gran. That Janet did not get married until 1891 so dont know where she was in 1881 could be in Scotland. Was thinking as 1847s mother was called Sarah perhaps she was using her name.Janet had 2 sisters Jean and Margaret and i have never found anything on them either. This is a complete stab in the dark but do you know anything about Janet? I was wondering if this was her family and perhaps her middle name was Sarah after her mother?

I have a Janet McNiel that married a Charles Gearing in 1864.She came from Scotland and married at St Lukes in Finsbury. In 1871 she is on the census under Garing. In 1881 and 1891 Charles is married to a Sarah and has his son Charles with him?Cant find no marriage for that.Cant find Janet either.Janet appears again on the 1901 cenus in hospital in Shoreditch. On her death cert she died in 1902 and was the widow of Charles.Could he have been calling herself Sarah? This is my brick wall.
