Hilary and Glitter Baby.

Well, I have looked at SP 1851 image and after searching old maps from 1500 -1952 and double checking the headings of the columns on the census form...my conclusion is the place is BINNIE....and the person is BLIND. (the last column is for blind, or deaf and dumb).

There are various spellings of Bynny, Binny, Binne, Binny Bridge and Binny Burn. The area has six quarries and a brickworks.

I enjoyed that bit of research.

Linlithgow on earlier maps is Linlitquo.

Ray.

I have checked the older maps online, it is now called West Lothian but used to be Linlithgow. The nearest I can find is Bridgend, Linlithgowshire but on the census it is 2 words both beginning with the letter B. Thanks for your help.

I have found my 4xgt. grandfather on 1841/51 census and on 51 census it looks like it says Bernins Blend, Linlithgowshire. I cannot find anywhere of that name. Does anyone have any idea of an area that it could be. He was born c. 1775.I am only around for a little while but will pick any suggestions up later on in the week. Grateful for any help.
