In the 1880 street records the following Hayes are listed - but none in Ghent street:

Hayes, Alexander, baker, 47 Lorton Street
Hayes, Charles, spinning master, 17 Waterford Street
Hayes, David H., 364 Eden Terrace, Shankhill Road
Hayes, David, jeweller, Everley Villas
Hayes, Edward, staff sergeant, 29 Patrick Street Great
Hayes, Ellen, 3 Atlantic Avenue
Hayes, John, mechanic, 139 Sandy Row
Hayes, R. E., M.D., 50 Duncairn Street
Hayes, William J., engineer, 25 Earl Street
Hayes, Wm., potato merchant, 1, 3 & 5 Vernon Street and 67 May Street
Hayes, William, grocer, 16 Welsh Street

Have only found the following tennant list from the 1907 street list for Belfast and in that year number 10 was occupied by a Robert Brown. Cant find the street in anything after the first world war. From what I can find out the houses where little more than slum housing and would have probably been cleared

No replies so it looks as though the Belfast papers don't do photos.
On another tack my Hayes ancestors wer living at 10 Ghent Street, Belfast in 1870. Does anyone know if this address still exists?

I have looked at the Belfast Family History site and it looks a useful gateway into the Irish censuses of 1901 and 1911 but until I have identified the relatives on the photo I do't know who to look for.

Thank you, I had hoped that I could be pointed to a particular newspaper that has a section on finding people.
The photo was taken in the studio of Wm. L Allison, 13 Donegall Square North, Belfast in 1931. It is probably unlikely but I wonder if they are still in business?

Try the local newspapers (wouldnt send the original though - scan a copy over). Also have a look at:

I have a photo taken in Belfast in 1931 showing an elderly lady and two children that I would like to identify. Does anyone know of a Belfast publication that could show the photo and ask readers if they know their identities?
