Hi
can anyone tell me please what ED, Instiution or vessel refers to? On Ancestry when they give this information one of my ancestors has 1h next to this.
What does the vessel bit stand for?
Manay Thanks

It means where they live. It stands for Enumeration District, an institution or a boat (vessel).

ED = Enumeration district...in your case, District 1h within the census area.
