Does anyone out there know what an "American Meat Salesman" was ?
One of my rellies on 1901 census has this listed as his occupation

I assume that he wasn't actually an American who sold meat, lol?

I have googled and can't come up with amything, maybe he was a salesman for imported meat from America? Not sure what type of meat this could be but I can't think of anything else!

He wasn't American - was born in Walsall, Staffs
Perhaps it was buffalo steaks !!!
