How about getting your other half to buy it as a Christmas present, if you're not sure? I love a bargain too lol, might hold out when my renewal is up.

Another tip is to call them before you renew, I did and got mine for £63.96 as well!

No I think they usually tell you a couple of weeks before that your sub is running out if I remember correctly? If not you can always check on your account details to see when your sub ends and just change your card details on there so they cant take anything out of it.

I thought it was a continuous subscription, but will be pleased if you tell me it isn't.

I think I will have to. I've lasted a month without it but it has been really hard and i definitely agree, its money well spent.

An obvious tip for others though, don't renew, just sit and wait - if you can that is!!!

Thanks for all the replies - off to sweet talk my hubby! x

Hi Helen,
Yes you should,
You wouldn't think twice about spending money on a good meal, or on an evening out at the theater or going drinking or the like.
With Ancestry you have the use of it for the whole year
money well spent

I agree with Heather - I couldn't imagine life without Ancestry! (sad or what?)

I'm tempted to try not renewing myself!

Snap their hand off, you know you cant live without it.

Hi,

I decided not to renew my Ancestry sub in November, after being with them for the last 2 years. The main reason being the price, the fact that new members get a discount but not existing members.

Well Ancestry have emailed me today, asking why I've disappeared. They've offered me 20% off the £79.95 so I'd get the years sub for £63.96.

I'm confused now whether I should return as a) I do miss it and b) a discount always appeals!

Should I snap their hand off?

Helen x

PS I hope others get the same offer x
