Hi

Please could anyone tell me is there any way if I find a Marriage in the bmds I could find the "other half" by looking for the reference number. If you know what I mean, just wondering about an easier way to find ancestors childrens marriages etc., without ordering certificates, probably not that lucky, have loads of actual grandparents certificates to order so cant afford all the rest.

Maybe I could find the male ones in the censuses.

Thanks for any help

What years are you talking about?

If they are on freebmd, the transcriptions list all the names on a page (with some exceptions, where images are unclear)

Just cross-refer with the census immediately following the marriage entry...........using a process of elimination, based on known data.....birth year/birthplace for example.

Thanks Reg

That is helpful, just trying to marry off the children in the easiest way or find out if they died early, talking 1837 to present day but at least until the end of the censuses. Cant do 1901 onwards on census though.

Thanks again
