what does this mean on ancestry and what do you do with the numbers on same ?.
can anyone enlighten me please?

ED is Enumeration District (for a census)
Institution could be hospital, school, prison etc
Vessel is a ship.

As I dont use Ancestry I cant tell you how to use it, sorry.

To be honest Bunny, I shouldnt worry about them. Its just a standardised census form - it doesnt mean your ancestors were on a ship or in an institution (unless they were of course!) it is not something you will really ever use. (I expect the purists will jump on me now - LOL)
