Kal. when you get your ticket, you have to order the ledgers depends how busy they are as to how long they take to get them to you so you could be waiting a while so allow enough time when you go.

Allan. It is on the 7th floor not open monday (but Check before you go). You need ID for a ticket which you will need every time you go, no payment and only pencils allowed bags to go in lockers. Check the Birmingham council web site. The records for 1956 you may not be able to see not past so many years for that i would think. I did find the ledgers heavy and dusty so be careful what you wear, otherwise go and enjoy.

I had some in prison at the same time. but i went to the Birmingham records and you can see the court information from the ledgers in the archives dept.

Can anyone posibly tell me how to find if a person was in Winson Green Prison, B'Ham during the 1901 census.
