I find GR damned slow, and I'm on a highspeed connection.

TIP:

Open new windows/tabs to read things.

When you're looking at the main page for the Tips board, e.g., and you see a thread you want to read, do this:

RIGHT CLICK on the link. Select "Open in new window" or "Open in new tab", depending on what browser you're using. I prefer "Open in new tab", because the new tab doesn't open over top of the thing I'm reading.

I scan down a list and select three things I want to read, and right-click on each of them and open in new tab in Firefox.

By the time I've done that, the first one has loaded, and I just move over to that tab and read it. When I'm done, I close the tab and move on to the next.

Meanwhile, the main list of posts in Tips is still open, and I just go badk to that tab and keep going.

The big advantage is -- no having to use the Back button and wait for the page to reload. And the page still looks the same way it did when you were first there, so nothing that you were interested in will have dropped off to the next page in the meantime.

Always, always use a new tab or page when viewing images at Ancestry, e.g. Otherwise, you'll spend half your life waiting for images to load. This way, you can keep looking in the census or wherever you are, in one window/tab, and check the image out once it's loaded in the other.

Still think I will leave it to him, might end up deleting some of his stuff, and I would be in BIG trouble!!
