princes tennis club little preston street brighton

I've got an Edwin Gray who was a professional tennis player around 1900 at the Princes Tennis Club, Little Preston Street, Brighton.

I've tried 'googling' but it doesn't come up.

Does anybody have any knowledge of the Club or know where I can get information on Edwin as a tennis player

He may have been a member of the Lawn Tennis Association:

- an extract from their website on the history of the LTA shows it was in existence in 1900.

"Lawn tennis was first promoted as a sport by English army major Walter Clopton Wingfield in 1873. He packaged up a tennis kit of a net, posts, rackets and balls together with some instructions on how to play.

The game soon captured the public’s imagination and, in January 1888, the Lawn Tennis Association was founded at the Freemasons’ Tavern in Great Queen Street, London. William Renshaw, by then six times Wimbledon champion, became the first president and a few months later the initial constitution was written."

This article dated 1904 mentions a tennis player called Edwin Gray but it is in America
