SO many similar names! Think it will be hard to work out which one is which. I've gone through Free BMD and have messaged a few people on GR so hopefully someone will have a few answers for me!

Wondering if that may be the other Jeremiah - there are 2 Jeremiahs, one born 1821 (ish) one born 1833 (ish) both married a Mary! Both born Ireland but living in Camborne area! How confusing!!!

I've had that down as a probability for a while, going to order the marriage cert soon... fingers crossed!

Could this be his marriage?

Timothy Bryan 1853 Jul-Aug-Sep Redruth (To 1974) Cornwall

Jeremiah Finn 1853 Jul-Aug-Sep Redruth (To 1974) Cornwall

Bridget Foley 1853 Jul-Aug-Sep Redruth (To 1974) Cornwall

Mary Sexton 1853 Jul-Aug-Sep Redruth (To 1974) Cornwall

They're not on the 1841 census at all so must still be in Ireland then - there seems to be no Finns in Cornwall in 1841!

1851 however - in Tuckingmill there are 2 Finn families with very familiar names!

1= Cornelius Finn 1826 head b ireland
jeremiah b1821 brother b ireland
Margaret 1833 wife b Ireland
Mary b1801 Illogan - mother
Mary A b1850 daughter B Ireland
lodger Morris Neale b1831 Ireland

2- David Finn b1801 Ireland
Julia b1801 Ireland
Jeremiah b1836 Ireland
John b1839 Ireland

Eliza Thomas & the 2 Burt girls actually live next door

1861 Jeremiah is down as being born in 1831, but this is still too close to Eliza's birth year!

My ancestor Cornelius Finn was born in 1862, Camborne/Gwinear (although I can't find an entry on BMD) and married Sarah Jane Collins in Mar 1899.

In 1901 they're living in Tuckingmill with their first son Herbert Stanley Finn.

I can't find him at all in 1891 (any help with this greatly appreciated!).

In 1881 he's in Condurrow, with his mother Mary (b1833 Rockfield, Ireland) and sister Ellen (b1863 Camborne)

Now for the confusing part...

1871 Brea
Caroline Burt 1856 UNMARRIED but down as DAUGHTER to Jeremiah and Mary b1856 Wales
Martha Burt b1863 UNMARRIED DOWN AS DAUGHTER TO JEREMIAH AND MARY b London. Middlesex
Cornelius Finn (transcribed on Ancestry as Corrictrus!) b1862 Camborne, son
Daniel Finn 1855 son camborne
Dennis Finn 1857 son camborne
Ellen Finn 1863 daughter Camborne
Jeremiah Finn b1816 head b Ireland, surface mine labourer MOTHER =ELIZA
Jeremiah Finn b1868 son Camborne
Mary Finn b1831 wife b Ireland
Mary Finn b1859 dau camborne
Eliza Thomas b1827 mother bIllogan

How can Eliza Thomas be mother to Jeremiah Finn if he is born before her? They have different surnames? She's only 4 years older than Mary?
Why are Caroline and Martha down as daughters but born away from Cornwall and have a different surname?
Really confused on this one... Haven't looked at this branches for ages and I'm very quickly remembering why! Most of the siblings are proving very very elusive - am eager for the 1911 census to find out a bit more (hopefully) but just can't seem to find Cornelius's siblings anywhere, wondering if they may have gone home to Ireland or emigrated to USA?

Any help really appreciated!
