Searching censuses by address

Yes, I have done that many times with my rellies London adresses. Not just to find my ancestors but to research the property and where abouts on the street it was situated eg "69 Leather Lane, Holborn".

On Ancestry,scroll down below search box
select census
scroll down again
select county
select parish
now go through each enumeration district until you find your address
now click on district and look at every page
Long winded but can be done.

You can do an address search on 1901censusonline and get an idea of where the street is and then you can search Ancestry ;

County Civil
Parish Ecclesiastical
Parish Parliamentary
Borough Rural
District Municipal
Borough Municipal
Ward

Is it possible to find a specific address in 1901 without knowing the family? I've tried on Ancestry but I can't seem to work it out!
