If anybody has access to Kent parish records, I would be very grateful if you could help me,

I'm looking for the birth/baptism of Harriot/Harriet London born around 1811 in Waltham, Kent.

Also I know she married a George Stickels around 1831 (birth of first known child) in or around Kent.

Any info about her parents/siblings would be much appreciated,

Thank you

Vicky

According to my street map book of Kent, there is not a place called Waltham. Does anyone know what it is called now?

According to the AA Road Atlas of GB & NI (2006) Waltham is clearly marked and is a village just off the B2068 (a very straight road going down from Canterbury to the M20). Waltham lies between Crundale and Bossingham and has a Nature Reserve close-by.

Villages in Kent are occasionally 'lost' as they often have no road signs leading to them. For many years the rumour has been that, though started as a means of confusing the enemy during the wars, the practise has been carried on by farmers wanting to keep traffic off the tiny, country roads! I underline rumours but it's a good solution for keeping roads clear so as to allow farm vehicles traffic-free routes!
