Linda, if you save the GEDCOM file sent you, open that in FTM, not the long list!

Still here but must go to bed lol

Hello Linda,
Has someone sent you a text file?

Thanks for your advice Keith but I still don't understand what you have to do.

How do I 'save' this big long list of info, I have so that I can use FTM to open it?

Yes that will do nicely, if you open FTM, click on file, open, then look for where you have saved the file and open it, it will ask you what you wish to save it as, as an FTW file, type the name and it click open, this will open the file with the name you typed as another FTW file.

Sorry got to go to bed, its 10 to 1 here.

Linda, you need a family tree programme to open and make sense of it.
There is a free one on www.familysearch.org called Personal Ancestral file.

Someone has sent me an email with a gedcom of their family tree.

What do I do now. There's nothing to click on just a big long list of information.

Thanks

Linda
