Hi my name is Margaret Warden and my boys are trying to get onto the police force to go up north and I am trying to get there metis statis card and my dilema is My grandfather (great) name is Antione Lavallee who got married to Elizabeth Lalonde Sept 23 in St Columbans Cornwall, Ont . They had my grandfather Frederich Charles White who was born April 15 1891 in Kingston , Antione or Anthony Lavallee changed his name to Joseph White and I have no documention on the name change or that this is the same person I have a birth certicate of Noah Lavallee or White that is my grandfathers brother that he has changed his name but not for my grandfather or great grandfather could someone if they can help me Thanks

I have the parish records of St. Columban's, Cornwall and the marriage is there. It doesn't give any more info than what Rose has posted except that the witnesses were Michael Lalonde and Agnes Lalonde.
There is also a birth of George Albert Lavalee, son of Antoine Lavalee and Eliza Lalonde, born Dec.1878, baptised March 23, 1879. Sponsors Stephen Lalonde & wife.

This looks like the family on the 1881 census, still Lavalee and still in Cornwall. Evident problems with French/English translation!
