Thanks everyone for your replies, yes you do as it says, when I replied to the message it goes to Ancestry Connective Service then it is sent on to the person that has sent it.
The person that sent it is certainly my relation, what a nice suprise for the New Year.
Best Wishes and thanks again

Tox, do you have a tree on Ancestry with your email address shown so anybody can contact you? I know I contacted some whose email addies were shown, so it didnt go through Ancestry, but others I had to contact through the site.
Huia.

Yes, you do as it says, simply respond to the message. It goes through Ancestry so the other person doesn't know your address and you don't know theirs.

I thought you could respond to the email with Ancestry - it doesn't give your address, just goes through their connection service....

Maybe I'm wrong

Hi Rutland Belle, not too good at this computer lark, I will go back to the message and read it again, thank you for your help.

Happy New Year everyone, I have had a message sent to me through Ancestry Connection Service about one of my family members, it says "simply reply to this email to respond," I haven't had a message through Ancestry before and was wondering if I have done this correct, I wouldn't want to get it wrong.
