Hi Sue. You say about buying credits... which site do you use? Do you know about FreeBMD? It's not complete yet but an awful lot of indices have been transcribed and you can access the info for free.

It also often works out cheaper to by a subscription to a site such as Ancestry rather than use credits.

Hi Kath.
Think I will have to order certificates for a long shot. I think I have found a bygamist.
Many thanks for your reply.
Regards. SUE.

Once you've found the entries you need to buy the certificate to get the full information.

After 1911 the birth index will give you mother's maiden name (but not full names).

You won't get spouse's name on a death index and possibly not even on the certificate unless the spouse is the informant for the death.

When buying credits to look up births, deaths and marriages what info does it give? I.E.. Parents on birth or spouse on death certificate.
