Yep Roy you're right, it would make sense that if she died in child birth, the death & birth be registered together.
The only exception would be if they were short of money & registered the birth a little late but I think this is me being over cautious

Claire, not sure about you reading of the records?

her death was registered in the first quarter and the child's birth in the second quarter 1848

but the birth cert for John jnr should solve the puzzle

can anyone help me i have a john pickup born 1848 in ALL SOULS mmanchester i have his father as john pickup to as i got this from his marriage cert but i wont to find who his mother is
but im not having any look
can anyone help
i cant even find them on the census but then i could have missed them

any help would be grt
