Jane - Thankyou for that information. I have just been looking on the CWGC site for a Wilfred Robinson but my search returned no matches, how did you find that?

I don't know that it's him of course.

I would have to contact all 25 registrars in order to see if it's the correct one . . . . a long job!

Thanks Roy

The only one of my Great Grandmothers 12 children I have been unable to trace is Wilfred Robinson. He only had one christian name.

He was born in Yarm (on Tees) and his birth was registered in Stokesley during the first quarter of 1891. He is listed on the 1891 & 1901 census and that's it, that's all I know! I have looked for a marriage but I do not know who, where or indeed if he married. Assuming he might have married from about the year 1910 I looked on Free BMD marriage index on Ancestry with a +-20 years from 1930. There are 24 Wilfred Robinson marriages listed within this period, up & down the country. Can I assume this is a complete list, or should I check every year & qtr. ?

I thought I had found it when I saw the marriage of a Wilfred Robinson in Stokesley in 1914 - but alas the father was not the same.

I do appreciate he could have died, emigrated or even killed in the First World War.

Can someone please suggest how I could narrow down my search having such little information?

Regards

Stu
