Member Since: February 2003 Posts: 27 Send Message	Google "Blue Coat School, Oldham" and you will find information on its history in Wikipedia. It was changed from a boarding school in the 1950's. I don't think it had any connection with Henshaw's Society for the Blind if that is what is making you think that your relative was blind. Happy hunting

Found a relative aged 10 at this school on the 1901 census but it doesn't state that he is Blind or visually impaired. I have Googled for info but not a lot of help.Wondering if the school was just for the Blind. Thanks, Ellen.
