I have told OC (through the family tree forum site) about this and she says that she has a large tree for Owd Timothy o't' Looms.

You can either join the ftf site and ask her there about them, or you can contact her through GR - by looking at the very first thread on the tips board that is "stickied" so always at the top of the screen, and send a message to the poster (An Olde Crone Holden) - then OC can reply to you with the information. She cannot initiate contact through GR but can reply to you.

There used to be someone on this board known as OC - I think one of her threads is now a sticky on one of the boards. She was a Holden and had made extensive research into the family.

I think she is now on another forum but I cannot remember the name of the forum. Someone else will know. You might do as well to add "Holden" into your heading as that may generate an interest from those who keep in touch with OC.

I happen to come across a gg grannie from darwen with the name holden and have found out that the name holden was very common in the darwen area at the time. Also ive stumbled across a few websites, messages on boards that link most holdens from darwen to a man called Timothy Holden "Owd Timothy o' th' Looms"; I too may have found a link from my grannie to him...but does anybody know who he was and why he was well known in darwen. From what i can see he seemed to be quite known from the impression i got from other websites.....but who was he?...

Does anybody know?
