Has anyone ordered any of the CD's from the above site please?
I have seen a CD of the Pedigrees of Durham for £14.25 and wondered if it was worth getting.
thanks

Hello Di

Have just had a look at the site and they appear to have the typical offerings I have seen on S & N Genealogy, plus a number of others that don't appear to be on offer elsewhere. I have just ordered a CD from them for a load of Parish Registers in Lancashire, whether it has useful information remains to be seen!! The same probably applies to the CD you are interested in.

Thank you. Could I ask if you would PM me when you receive your CD and let me know whether it was worth it.

When it comes to data CD's every one is different in content you can only go by the product description and what it tells you is on the CD, only when you have looked at it can you tell if it was any good for your purpose/use.

I have ordered parish records CDs from this site and I found them really useful - I managed to find my family details on them and they were very easy to search on - with baptisms, marriages and deaths separated.

I wouldn't buy just on the off-chance that there might be something useful on them as it is expensive though.

Thank you for your comments and apologies for not replying sooner but obnly just got in from work.
Think I'll buy the CD and see what info is on it. Unfortunately the product detail info is very limited and that is probably enough to encourage someone to buy it.

I thiught Arcive CDS had stopped trading due the owner retiring - or am I thinking of a different company?

Its ok - just checked and they are distributing in UK from Ireland.

Have had a few from them over the years and they are usually very good quality.
