http://www.archive.org/details/rollofserviceing00univuoft (466 pp)

IN this volume the University of Aberdeen records the service and the sacrifices rendered by her Graduates, Alumni, Students, and Staff during the Great War, and does homage to the memory of those of them who achieved the greatest that men can and laid down their lives for their friends and indeed for all men, in so far as they fought, suffered and died for ideals which are essential to the higher life of the race.

It gives obits of fallen (341 @ 3 per page, usually with pic), and brief service records of rest. There is a 10 pp appendix detailing service of staff, and a 1 p appendix listing civilian POWs.

It's freely downloadable in DjVu, colour pdf, b/w pdf, and txt. I didn't look at the DjVu. There is no real colour, the pages are yellowed and somewhat discoloured in addition. The b/w makes a better job with the photos, but at a minor cost of over-lightening the text (which is still readable). The txt is scanned, and sometimes contains errors - often obvious - and has trouble with numbers. E.g.,

ADAM, ROKERT, M.A., B.L.,

S. of William A. ; b. li.mchory, 17 Apr. 1879. M - A -> 190: ]!.L, 1902. Commd., "th (Gordon Hrs., i Apr. 1910; mobili/ed, 4 Aug. 1914. Served France, i May 1915-9 Oct. 1918. Final rank, Acting Major. M.C. Two mentions, 1916, 1917.

ADAM, ROBERT, M.A., B.L.,

s. of William A. ; b. Banchory, 17 Apr. 1879. M.A., 1900; B.L., 1902. Commd., 7th Gordon Hrs., 1 Apr. 1910; mobilized, 4 Aug. 1914. Served -- France, 1 May 1915-9 Oct. 1918. Final rank, Acting Major. M.C. Two mentions, 1916, 1917.

Also, in the roll of service, the fallen are written in Gothic, with a page ref to their obit, and this (unsurprisingly) causes scanning errors, e.g.,
