If you go to the BMD page and put in a search for the marriage of William Clark then put Jane under spouse first name that brings up a number of possibilties. I did a search for years between 1865 and 1870 based on the one you'd found.

Does it have to be 1869 and somewhere in London? There are some that might do.

Have you found William and Jane on any censuses yet? What do you already know?

Where does William appear with a wife named Jane?

Where and when was he born?

Where and when was she born?

If they had children..........when and where was the first one born?

Unfortunately there are no Janes on the same page.

If you click on the Page:914 part (like it says), it will tell you the other peope on that page, one of whom will hoepfully be a Jane.

UPDATE: That isn't his marriage, well not if he definately married a Jane. The two possible brides on that page are Sarah or Elizabeth.

With names as common as William Clark and Jane, I think you will really need to get the birth certificate of one of theor children to ensure you get the right maiden name for Jane.

Hi guys,

I'm looking for the marriage of a William Clark to a Jane, and wondered if there was any way of finding out what the name of the spouse is without ordering the certificate? e.g. I have found:

Name: William Clark
Year of Registration: 1869
Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun
District: Marylebone (1837-1901)
County: London, Middlesex
Volume: 1a
Page: 914 (click to see others on page)
