Opening 2 trees simultaneously?

This can be a very frustrating thing , sometimes I can open 2 trees other times Kate I too get the same problem it just changes the current tree I have open

Open your tree by left clicking in the normal way. Then open your tree again but this time by RIGHT clicking and selecting open in new window

You now have two windows open and by re sizing the sides you can have them side by side

Then go to the select tree window on one of them and pick out the second tree you want to have open from the list. This will then open and replace your tree in this window, leaving the first window as it was.

The only way I've found to do this is to open internet explorer and firefox.

Does anyone know how to open 2 different family trees simultaneously? I've tried opening a new browser, but when I try to open a different tree to my own, the window with mine in converts to that tree instead of the new window opening it. I've done it once before so I know it's possible, but I can't remember how I did it.
