Hello All,
I thought I had exhausted all avenues as I could come up with nothing new. That's what I like about asking. People look at the problem differently and then come up with all the variables above.
Thanks to all of you for your responses.
Will now take a look through your replies.
Bye
Paul

George and Emma are living on Princes Street, Madeley in 1881. He is a confectioner.

They also have a daughter Sarah Ann, aged 6, b. Madeley.

Looks like that Emma married George Allen

1871 - Madeley
George Allen 34 Head Miner b. Cheshire Audlem
Emma Allen 29 Wife b. Madeley
William Allen 4 Son b. Madeley

There is an Audley in Cheshire, I think - could be mistranslated

Think this may be the grandma in 1861

1861 - Kirkless Row, Madeley

John Crippen Head 56 Ag Lab
Elizabeth Crippen Wife 51 Ag lab wife
Thomas Crippen Son Unm 24 Ag Lab
Harriet Crippen Daur Unm 21 Dress maker
Amelia Crippen Daur Unm 18 Assistant Dress maker

All born in Leighton except John who was born in Eaton Constanton (?), Salop.

Perhaps Mary Ann could be the illegitimate child of one of the girls?

I can't see Mary Ann in 1881 but think this could be her grandmother in 1861

Presumably Mary Ann was the child of one of her daughter's but you would need her birth cert/marraige cert to confirm it
