If that is your Henry Mayo in the 1891, maybe this is why there is no Henry Mayo/Deborah Tann marriage; Sarah is down as married - no husband living with her:

You have them on the 1901 with Henry; William was born just after that census so you won't Henry and Deborah with any other children on a census until the 1911 comes out.

yes Deborah tann was definatly born in 1877, ive found her whole branch, but still can't find them on any census that would give me their children.

I found Henry mayo b.1861 and his parents:

james mayo b.aprox 1837 in bath, somerset

having trouble finding james's parents, his not on freebmd or on any census???

Thanks for all the replies, i think there is some confusion about whose mother is whose because i'm sure Henry had more than one wife but of coarse i only know about one of them. I think your right about deb tann being born in 1877. How did you find her on the census, i put her name in but nothing came up!

There is another Deborah Tann born W Ham Q3 1877 (Vol 4a page 74). This would fit in with the family above on the 1901 census.

Are you sure the 1863 Deborah Tann is your one?

There is this one in 1901 however Deborah's age does not match with the information you have given.

Do you know Deborah was definitely born in 1863. If so and her maiden name was Tann then she would have been 51 when she had Hilda (identified above).

I'm looking into a 'William Mayo' born in 1901 August in West Ham. I have his birth certificate with his parents names etc.

However, even with these names i can't find them anywhere on any census!

I did manage to find the mother 'Deborah Mayo (formerly Tann) on another site. She was born in 1863 in West Ham. Cannot find the father 'Henry Mayo' anywhere!

I wanted to find them in the census so i could find Williams brothers and sisters (of which he had many!) but i'm getting nowhere, i don't understand why they are not there in the 1901 census. If anyone has any advice of where i can look next, please do reply
