Hi Karen,

You can apply for as many certificates as you want, and will only be charged if the information you give matches the recorded information. Therefore, if you know who Ann married - quote the husband's full name - this way you will get the correct cert at first go Ancestry records all Ann Allen's circa 1814 - all but one was married.

I couldn't find them online, but they do seem to be available on CD, so some kind soul on here may be able to do a look up for you. May just save you seven quid for the extra cert.

The only option I can see is if you live close to the relevent records office (or if they are online), to check out the burial records for the area in case they mention the burial of Ann, wife of ????.

Wondered if anybody could help me. I am looking for the death of Ann Allen living in the west derby area of Liverpool.
I know she was dead by the 1881 census but I have found 2 entries both west derby,
Ann Allen birth 1812, death 1875
Ann Allen birth 1816, death 1879

is there any way I can find out which one may be mine or will i have to buy both certs. Looking at past census' her date of birth is either 1811, 1814 or 1815 so that doesn't help either. Hope some one can help.
