Finding ANYONE without knowing how old they were, where they were born, and their marital status is difficult, at best...........and in most cases impossible.

Unless the witnesses were relations........in which case, you will have all the info you need, I'm not sure what relevance they have to researching one's family tree.

Hi David

You would search for them the same way that you would search for anyone else on the census, except with a bit more difficulty.

The only info you have are their names and a guess at the area they were living at. Let's take John and Eliza Perry in Stepney 1874. You would try the 1871 census first, searching on either of their names for that area. If you cannot find them, try the 1881 census. If that particular area is not throwing them up in the search, then you can widen your search area - try a neighbouring area.

You may just find them living as neighbours to your ancestors or in a nearby street. So if you have already located those particular ancestors (from the marriage) on the census, try searching backwards and forwards a few pages to see if the Perry's are there.

Regards

Athena
